[stringtemplate-interest] Newline removal

I understand that. My concern is inconsistent behaviour. For example, I have 
changed { to {_| several times to eat those newlines, and that hardly 
improves readability.

Perhaps if the $...:{ occupies the entire line, the newline should be removed 
as well?

<div>$some_flag:{ $! no need to remove newline !$
    <div>

<div>
$some_flag:{ $! should produce no empty line !$
    <div>
