[stringtemplate-interest] Sourcerer?

Why do you think StringTemplate as a name sucks?

I have made a lot of presentations about StringTemplate and have been
through many design/code reviews where its role was highly visible. In
my circles, it has a lot of name recognition. There could be perhaps
some perception of instability if its name were to change at this point.

>From a marketing perspective, is StringTemplate more descriptive of what
it does than Sourcerer?

There may be some brand collision with Velocity because its common name
in some development shops is Velocity Templates. Does this suggest that
StringTemplate has a stronger name than Velocity? What are your
strategic goals for changing the name?

Just random questions... Sorry for the rapid fire.

Regards,
Jeff

I don't mind the StringTemplate name. I think it has at least some
established brand recognition already.

What was sorcerer anyway? I remember the name but not what it was.

probably should just move to ST. but of course st.* is taken.

Hi,

StringTemplate as a name sucks. ST is ok, but what if we took the
marketing hit and resurrected the Sourcerer or Sorcerer name?
